1: Go through the gate in the south-west corner of The Woodman car park and follow the footpath as it heads SSW. Cross a wooden bridge, go through another gate, and follow the path until it crosses another wooden footbridge. (300m)
2: After the bridge go through a gate on your left and turn right, following a path with the field on your left. Continue as the path bends to the left until you reach a gap in the hedge on the right. (200m)
3: Go through the gap, cross a small stream, and follow the path uphill heading SW with the field on your left and the hedgerow on your right. (250m)
4: After 80m the path veers left heading diagonally uphill towards a tree on the left. Continue SW with the woodland on your right and the field on your left until you reach a gate leading to Grubbs Lane. (410m)
5: Turn right and walk along the lane. (230m)
6: Soon after Westfield Lodge, take a footpath on your right. Cross the fields walking diagonally NNW heading to the left of the pylon. Continue through another field heading for the woods. (450m)
7: With the woods on your right, continue along the path as it curves first left and then right past a tree on your left until you reach Wildhill Road. (510m)
8: Cross Wildhill Road, and head N along a bridleway. (420m)
9: When you reach a bridleway junction, turn right on what is known as Green Street, and head E. Look right for some excellent views across the valley. (880m)
10: At West End Lane, turn left and head E and N until you reach a byway on the right. (280m)
11: Turn right and head NE until you reach a footpath on the right. (630m)
12: Turn right and follow the footpath downhill SE with the field on your right and the hedgerow on your left. Cross a footbridge and head SE to a footpath crossing. (750m)
13: Turn right and follow the path SW and then SE until it reaches the B158. (640m)
14: Cross the road and head SE down Hornbeam Lane until you reach a footpath before the first house on the right. (170m)
15: Take this path as it heads SW, crosses a footbridge, and emerges on a lane where you turn right and head NW until you reach the B158 at the junction with Wild Hill. (410m)
16: Turn left and walk SW down the east side of the B158 looking out for a footpath signpost on your right. (300m)
17: Cross the road, take this footpath, cross a field, go through a gate, cross another field, through another gate, and down to The Woodman car park. (540m)
